Item 8.01. Other Events


On May 1, 2017, Omega Protein Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.05 per share. The dividend is payable on June 15, 2017 to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 25, 2017. This press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.


Subsequent dividend declarations and the establishment of record and payment dates for such future dividend payments, if any, are subject to the Board of Directors ’ continuing determination that the dividend policy is in the best interests of the Company’s shareholders as well as compliance with applicable legal requirements. The dividend program may be suspended or cancelled at the discretion of the Board of Directors at any time.

Omega Protein Declares Quarterly Dividend


HOUSTON, TX – May 1, 2017 – Omega Protein Corporation (NYSE:OME), a nutritional product company and a leading integrated provider of specialty oils and specialty protein products, announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.05 per share. The dividend is payable on June 15, 2017 to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 25, 2017.
